NFC

NFC

  • NFC is the technology used in contactless bank payment cards. The scanners in the shop are the device which read the card. The card read by the machine when it nears it. This feature has employed the same technology as contactless bank cards.
  • Devices with NFC and running Android will support the NFC scanning functionality.
  • Tags come in various forms,
    • ID Cards
    • Sticky Dots
    • Tamper Proof Tags
    • Screw mounted plastic tags
    • Key Fobs
  • Tags can be written in the care app on the android device. This is done by visiting the settings menu and selecting “Write Tags”. All care actions and slider values can be written to a tag - e.g. a Night Check with “Awake” could be written to one, and Night Check with “Asleep” could be written to another
  • Tags can be written for the following;
    • Care Actions Only
    • Care Actions for a specific service user (e.g. night check)
  • When the tag is read it will trigger the action. If a tag is an action only tag, firstly select the service user then touch the tag.If it is a tag for a service user with an action, you can touch the tag whilst showing the community screen showing all the service users.
  • Default care note details can be written to the tag too to save writing extended note information (e.g. the care note can include the menu item chosen as well as the type of meal)
  • Tags must conform to the NTAG 216 standard of tags. The above styles of tag define the form factor and not the technical specification. When ordering you must ensure that the technical specification is also met
